Sukhumvit is one of the most popular areas to stay in Bangkok. It is centrally located and well connected by the BTS train system which makes getting around town very easy. It is home to many high-end hotels, dining, and shopping options.

Three very popular malls Terminal 21, Emquartier and Emporium malls are located in Sukhumvit. The area has a vibrant nightlife scene there are many nightclubs and rooftop bars as well as Sukhumvit Soi 11 party street so there is always something to do. If you want to be in the heart of the action, Sukhumvit is the place to be it has everything.

Silom / Sathon

Silom / Sathon is another great option and the area is also well-connected, with plenty of public transportation options. The area is also not to far from many of Bangkok’s best tourist attractions like the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and the National Museum. Silom / Sathom is also a popular choice for business travelers because many of the city’s corporate headquarters are located here. The famous King Power Mahanakhon building is located in this area as well.

Siam is the place to stay in Bangkok if you like shopping. There are so many options here, it’s the shopping center and has the most shopping malls of any area in Bangkok. Air conditioned malls where you can escape the heat and enjoy great food, cinemas, and shopping. Also if you are looking for more of a family-friendly area this is it.

Khao San Road

Khao San Road is the backpacking hub of Bangkok. It’s known for its cheap accommodation, bars, and lively atmosphere. It’s a great place to meet other travelers, this narrow street filled with cheap guesthouses and many vendors.

If you’re on a tight budget, Khao San Road is the perfect place to stay. There are plenty of cheap street food options. It can be quite noisy and crowded, so it might not be ideal for those looking for a quieter area.

There are also some nice dining and rooftop bars in this area as well. Recently Pratunum has undergone a transformation, with new developments bringing a more modern flair to the area.
